Privacy policy

This notice describes what happens to data when you visit this site. It describes what the site actually does, not what a template says it might do.

Who is responsible

This is a private site run by one person. There is no data protection officer, because the site does not meet the thresholds in Art. 37 GDPR / § 38 BDSG that would require one.

Advertising and cookies

This site carries advertising, supplied by Google AdSense. There is one advertisement per page, in a fixed position below the menu bar. It is labelled "Advertisement". The site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics service; the only third party a page loads is Google's advertising service, described below.

Who. Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, is the provider for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Google acts as an independent controller for the advertising data it processes.

What is processed. To request and display an advertisement, your browser connects to Google's servers. Google receives your IP address, the address of the page you are on, your browser and device details, and, where you have agreed to it, information stored in or read from your device (cookies and similar technologies) used to select advertisements and to measure and limit how often you see them.

Your choice, and the legal basis. Before any advertising cookie is set or read, you are asked. Storing or reading information on your device happens only with your consent, under § 25(1) TTDSG; the processing of the resulting data is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can refuse, and the site still works in full — refusing means you see non-personalised advertising, which still requires a connection to Google but no cookie is used to profile you. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the privacy settings link shown with the consent message; withdrawal does not affect anything done before it.

Where the data goes. Google may transfer data to the United States. Transfers are made on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, in addition, the Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long. Retention is set by Google, not by this site. Google's own policies are at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and policies.google.com/privacy, and advertising personalisation can be switched off in your own Google account at adssettings.google.com.

Automatic ad placement is not used. Google is not permitted to place advertisements wherever it chooses on this site. The position is fixed by the site itself, and no advertisement appears inside a warning, beside the steps to follow if you have already sent money, or next to the notice about recovery scams.

What will never appear here. This site does not carry advertising from fund-recovery or asset-recovery services, or from any business offering to retrieve money lost to fraud for an advance fee. Those businesses target people who have already been defrauded once, and that category is blocked in this site's advertising account.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It is used to understand the site as a whole, not to follow you.

Who. Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, as processor on this site's behalf under Art. 28 GDPR.

Only with your consent. Analytics is switched off until you accept it in the consent banner. Technically: every Google tag on this site starts with storage set to denied, and nothing is written to or read from your device until you say yes. Legal basis: § 25(1) TTDSG for the storage, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR for the processing. If you refuse, analytics records nothing at all, and you can change your mind at any time through the privacy settings link shown with the banner.

What is recorded, if you accept. The page address, the time, the referring page, approximate location at city level, and your device, browser and language. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses; the IP is used to derive the approximate location and is then discarded.

Search terms are excluded, deliberately. When you use the search box, what you typed appears in the address of the page. Analytics would normally record the whole address. This site strips it and reports only the path, so the promise below — that what you type is never sent anywhere — holds whether or not you accepted analytics.

Where the data goes, and for how long. Google may transfer data to the United States, on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the Commission's standard contractual clauses. Data is retained for 14 months and then deleted. You can also block Google Analytics everywhere with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Search Console

This site is registered with Google Search Console, which reports the search terms that led people here. That report is aggregated by Google from its own search results, and reaches this site as totals with no personal data in them. Nothing is collected from your browser for it.

Fonts

This site loads no web fonts. Text is displayed in a typeface already present on your own device, so no font request leaves your browser and no font provider — Google included — receives your IP address.

Searching this site happens entirely inside your own browser. The search index is downloaded once and matched locally. What you type into the search box is never sent to any server and is never logged. Looking up a company here does not tell us, or anyone else, that you looked it up.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., which operates the servers that deliver these pages. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

Like every web server, it records each request in a log file. A log entry typically contains your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page if there is one, and your browser and operating system version.

  • Why. To deliver the pages, to keep the server working, and to detect attacks on it.
  • Legal basis. Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating the site securely.
  • How long. These logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period and are then deleted or anonymised. They are not combined with any other data, are not used to build a profile of you, and are not used to work out which warnings you looked at.

Contact by email

This site has no contact form. If you write to info@scammersexpose.com, your message and your address are kept only as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about, and then deleted. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) where your message concerns an entry about you.

Correction requests

If you write to ask that an entry be corrected or removed, the message and any documents you send are kept for as long as needed to deal with the request, and afterwards as a record that the request was made and how it was handled. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.

What this site does not do

  • No newsletter, no accounts, no logins
  • No tracking beyond the advertising and analytics described above, and both of those wait for your consent
  • Nothing you do here is linked to a profile we hold about you, and what you search for is never recorded

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, and its rectification or erasure; request restriction of processing; object to processing; and request portability. You may also complain to a supervisory authority.

How to exercise them. Write to info@scammersexpose.com. You do not need a particular form of words. Please say clearly what you are asking for, and include the exact address of any page you mean.

Where to complain. You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in the country where you live, where you work, or where the alleged breach happened. The authority responsible for this site is:

A note on the warnings themselves

The entries on this site are about companies, websites and platforms. The GDPR protects living individuals, and this register is built to hold no data about them: records naming a natural person are filtered out when the data is collected and are never stored.
